Our Value to You

Anthropologists focus on the big picture; and are trained at analyzing how culture impacts systems and structures. We as business anthropologists take this a step further. We apply this training to demonstrate how culture influences teamwork, productivity and profit.

Anthropology

Anthropology: the study of human societies and cultures and their development.

Business Anthropology

Business Anthropology: is the application of qualitative research methods from a cross-cultural perspective to solve real-world business problems. Anthropology contributes a global mindset to improve business strategy and organizational culture.

Ethnocentrism

Ethnocentrism: making false assumptions about other’s ways based on our own limited experience. A lack of understanding can also inhibit constructive solutions when we face conflicts between social groups. It is easy to assume that others “should” have certain views or values. How often are we prone to respond negatively when others tell us how we should think and feel?
–Ken Barger

Ethnography

Ethnography: the study of social interactions, behaviors, and perceptions that occur within groups, teams, organizations, and communities.

The central aim of ethnography is to provide rich, holistic insights into people’s views and actions… through the collection of detailed observations and interviews.

As Hammersley states, “The task [of ethnographers] is to document the culture, the perspectives and practices, of the people in these settings. The aim is to ‘get inside’ the way each group of people sees the world.”
–Scott Reeves

Anthropology provides a scientific basis for dealing with the crucial dilemma of the world today how can peoples of different appearance, mutually unintelligible languages, and dissimilar ways of life get along peaceably together.

Clyde Kluckhohn

Anthropology is the science which tells us that people are the same the whole world over - except when they are different.
